The Serviced Apartment Company (SACO) has unveiled the first in a planned series of communal areas for business travellers staying at its properties around the UK. Called The Lounge, the facility has opened at SACO’s latest lifestyle aparthotel, the Cannon, on Cannon Street in central London.
Features include 24hr reception, allowing guests to come and go as they please, a fireplace, sofas, free tea and coffee, and a library.
There is also a large communal table where guests can work on their laptops and access free superfast wi-fi.
SACO says the Cannon, where a stay costs from £163 a night, sets out to combine “the best of the lifestyle hotel experience” with serviced apartment living.
The complex contains 77 studios and one-bedroom serviced apartments with amenities ranging from HD flat-screen TVs, Apple TV boxes, a choice of international channels and multi-socket plugs with integrated USB ports.
CEO Stephen Hanton said: “Today’s travellers are looking for more than just a night’s stay – they want an experience. We deliver a unique quality proposition that provides a genuine home away from home.”
The company plans to follow the Cannon later this year with a new aparthotel brand aimed at specific market segments.
