The Accor group has unveiled the latest member of its MGallery by Sofitel portfolio.
The Castle Hotel Windsor is the third UK property in the upmarket 71-strong group, joining Francis Hotel Bath and Queens Hotel Cheltenham.
The Windsor property, a former 16th-century inn, has opened following a complete refurbishment, bringing together contemporary décor with the heritage of the original building.
Original servants’ bells have been placed in the hotel restaurant alongside portraits of modern day royals; and antique furniture has been reupholstered in rich velvets and embossed with a mermaid motif.
The hotel has 108 guestrooms including five suites featuring reading corners, signature artwork, expansive lounge areas, original fireplaces and full height glazed doors. There are 12 conference rooms.
Guests can watch Windsor’s Changing of the Guard from the suites and from the lounge.
Each hotel in the collection offers its own exclusive Memorable Moment; the Castle Hotel invites guests to a journey along the Thames to Bray with a picnic to see the local landmarks.
The hotel is close by Windsor Central and a few hundred yards from Windsor Riverside rail stations and 12 miles from Heathrow.
