Skopje arrival for Marriott

Marriott Hotels, the signature brand of Marriott International, has opened its first property in Macedonia.

The Skopje Marriott Hotel is on Macedonia Square, in the heart of the city’s business district, with 164 guestrooms and suites offering a combination of traditional architecture and modern interior design.

Features at the property, which overlooks the Vardar River, include Marriott’s signature Greatroom lobby, a restaurant and two bars.

Business travellers have access to seven separate event spaces, the largest accommodating up to 400 people, along with a multi-functional space for open discussions, workshops and private meetings.

There are also executive suites, a business lounge and a spa, while Marriott’s Meetings Imagined platform is available to help conference planners along with an online service that keeps guests in touch with guest relations managers 24/7.

The hotel is close to Skopje’s most famous attractions including the Stone Bridge, the Alexander the Great statue ‘Warrior on a Horse’, as well as an array of theatres, museums, bars and restaurants.

The hotel will also eventually become part of Marriott’s ‘Travel Brilliantly’ programme which among other things will offer mobile check-in and checkout and room-ready alerts.

The company is piloting keyless entry with mobile devices at its Baltimore Marriott Waterfront property.
