Aviation enthusiasts have an opportunity to see Germania’s special 30th-anniversary livery in all its glory today (9 May) when the Berlin-based airline lands its one-of-a-kind B737 at Gatwick.
Scheduled to arrive at 18:55, the aircraft, registration D-AGER, will sport a stylish green fuselage and anniversary roundel on its tailfin.
The aircraft will be in the UK for a limited time to be deployed in support of both scheduled and charter services.
Germania launched operations in 1986 and the 30th anniversary was seen as the ideal time to introduce the one-off celebratory livery to its fleet.
The 737 has already flown on some of the carrier’s 150 routes across Europe and the Middle East, but this will be its first visit to the UK.
Berlin-based Germania operates 22 aircraft and in the UK operates regular weekly flights to Kosovo from Gatwick as well as year-round ad hoc charter flights from Gatwick, Manchester and Norwich for international clients.
Passenger facilities include a varied IFE programme with music, HDTV shows and films, a minimum 20kg hold baggage allowance and 6kg of hand luggage, and free snacks and soft drinks. www.flygermania.com
