Marriott brand opens in US

Marriott International’s Delta Hotels and Resorts has opened its first branded property in the US. 

The Delta Orlando Lake Buena Vista in Florida is being run in partnership with JHM Hotels and signals the global expansion of the Delta brand and its integration into the Marriott family.

“The Orlando hotel marks the beginning of a period of exciting growth for the award-wining Delta brand,” said Paul Cahill, global brand leader for Delta Hotels & Resorts. Besides the Orlando hotel, Marriott says it plans to expand the brand worldwide to major gateway cities including New York, Shanghai and London. The development will bring the brand’s portfolio to a total of 80 hotels.

The Delta Orlando property has 241 guestrooms, a resort-style outdoor swimming pool, 24/7 fitness centre with state-of-the-art touch-screen technology on equipment, free high-speed wi-fi and on-site parking.

For meeting planners, the hotel offers 1,035sq ft of meeting space with natural lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows and accommodation for up to 115 people. There is also a Business Centre accessible 24/7.   www.marriott.co.uk/hotels/travel/mcode-delta-orlando-lake-buena-vista
