Delta Air Lines launched its latest non-stop from London yesterday (Sunday) with the take-off of its new flight between Heathrow and Salt Lake City.
The service, the only service linking London and the state capital and business hub of Utah, will operate year-round, using the Boeing B767-300.
Dwight James, Delta’s senior vice president, trans-Atlantic, said: “We are committed to expanding our UK network and the Salt Lake City flight opens up a whole new area of the US for our British customers.
“With the start of this year-round service, passengers will be able to enjoy five of North America’s most stunning national parks plus 14 resorts offering some of the world’s best skiing. We are confident our customers will enjoy all that Utah has to offer.”
Salt Lake City is Delta’s eighth destination served non-stop from Heathrow. Flights will operate daily throughout the summer then up to four times weekly in winter, effective from 29 October.
The service is being operated in conjunction with Delta’s joint venture partner, Virgin Atlantic Airways.
All Delta flights from Heathrow are wi-fi equipped, while Delta One passengers have fully flat-bed seats with individual aisle access. www.delta.com www.virgin-atlantic.com
