Plans to open or sign up to 150 new properties by 2020 have been announced by NH Hotels as it expands into China in a joint venture with Chinese firm HNA Hospitality.
NH has also officially launched its upmarket NH Collection brand in the Netherlands with the re-opening of three of its 12 Amsterdam hotels.
In China, NH and HNA are planning a portfolio of both NH Hotels and NH Collection properties owned by HNA or third parties.
The companies have two properties opening in the Chinese cities of Sanya and Haikou this year – the NH Sanya Phoenix International, with 334 rooms, and the NH Haikou Meilan airport with 1,001 rooms, the largest NH Hotels-branded property in the world.
In the Netherlands, NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, NH Collection Doelen and NH Collection Barbizon Palace, all with five stars, have been inaugurated after refurbishment as flagship properties.
NH continues to invest in refurbishing its properties worldwide in line with its strategic five-year business plan, which began in 2014.
Under the plan, the Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular have been defined as one of the group's 'key destinations'. www.nh-hotels.com
