A second daily flight to New York’s JFK airport has been launched by Qatar Airways, using an A350 for its new morning departure time from JFK.
The new flight operates out of Terminal 7, home to other oneworld members, including British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Iberia and Qantas, setting it apart from the airline’s existing flight, which operates out of JFK's Terminal 8.
The new service is scheduled to leave New York at 11:15 (all times local), arriving at Hamad International Airport in Qatar at 06:45 hrs local time. Return flights arrive at JFK at 09:15. The existing evening departure, operated by the Boeing 777-300ER, will continue to depart New York at 23:00, from Terminal 8.
Qatar Airways currently operates eight A350 aircraft on routes from Doha to Frankfurt, Munich, Singapore, and, from next month, Adelaide in South Australia.
In the US, the A350 currently operates to Philadelphia and Boston in addition to the second daily flight to JFK. Qatar Airways has an additional 72 A350s on order.
The company last month added daily non-stop service to Boston, and is due to start operations to Atlanta on 1 June. www.qatarairways.com
