LH, LX, SQ new pact

In a week of codeshare deals (see elsewhere in this issue), Lufthansa (LH), SWISS (LX) and Singapore Airlines (SQ) are expanding their partnership agreed in November to give passengers of all three airlines more destinations more connections.

In addition to the Lufthansa Group’s Frankfurt hub, SIA’s expanded codeshare connections now offer customers more than 20 routeings via the group’s Munich and Zurich hubs to and from points in Austria, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland.

Lufthansa and SWISS are also adding new codeshare connections in Southeast Asia and the Pacific to their timetables. 

In Lufthansa’s case, this includes Denpasar and Jakarta in Indonesia reached from Frankfurt via Singapore, with SWISS now offering connections from Zurich via Singapore to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney in Australia.

The SWISS line-up also now includes Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand.

Passengers to these destinations can now fly Lufthansa from Frankfurt or SWISS from Zurich to Singapore and then change to their connecting Singapore Airlines flight with a Lufthansa/SWISS flight number. 

Baggage checked-in in Germany or Switzerland is checked through to the final destinations and as before passengers can earn and redeem miles with the partner airlines concerned.  www.lufthansa.com      www.swiss.com       www.singaporeair.com
