Lufthansa to Panama City

A new route plus an extensive codeshare agreement with Copa Airlines will further raise Lufthansa’s presence and profile in Latin America.

Last week Lufthansa introduced a service to Panama City from Frankfurt operating a 298-seat Airbus A340-300 aircraft (18 Business, 19 Premium Economy and 261 Economy).

UK passengers are able to connect to flight LH 484 which departs at 10:15 (all times local), and is scheduled to arrive at the Aeropuerto Internacional de Tocumen in Panama City (PTY) at 16:40.  Eastbound flight LH 485 leaves Panama City at 18:45 and is due to land in Frankfurt at 11:35 offering passengers connections for flights to the UK.  Lufthansa will be operating a five-times-weekly service on the new route all year round.

Panama, which is located between Costa Rica and Colombia, has experienced strong and accelerating economic growth in the last few years.  The major expansion of the Panama Canal locks is now virtually complete, adding to the country’s importance as a transport hub.

Under the new codeshare accord, Lufthansa travellers can fly on with Star Alliance partner Copa Airlines from Panama City to any of 73 further destinations in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela, many of them bookable under Lufthansa flight numbers.  www.lufthansa.com
