Flight MH 370 and Quest

Tomorrow (Tuesday 8 March) is the second anniversary of the mysterious disappearance of flight MH 370.

Within the last few days a piece of debris has been found off the coast of Mozambique which could be from the Boeing 777 aircraft.  The debris is being tested by officials in Australia, with help from Malaysian authorities and Boeing representatives.

"It is too early to speculate on the origin of the debris at this stage," Australian Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Darren Chester told parliament.

However, the piece was found in "a location consistent with drift modelling commissioned by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau," he said.

Prior to the aircraft vanishing New York based British born CNN anchor man Richard Quest had interviewed the co-pilot and even taken a selfie with him.

Richard is convinced that the crew were not to blame for the calamity and that Malaysian authorities acted in a totally responsible way and that the aviation industry are the ones who botched their responsibility.

Quest was undoubtedly the leading journalist trying to explain what happened at the time.  He has followed up with a book “The Vanishing of Flight MH370” a revelatory behind-the-scenes look at how a reporter dealt with becoming the face of one of the decade’s biggest news stories.  www.penguin.com/book/the-vanishing-of-flight-mh370-by-richard-quest/9780425283011
