Traditionally more involved with military aviation that its civil counterpart, the Air League is moving towards a strong presence in the commercial airline industry under relatively new chief executive Nick West. For news of his appointment, see BTN 6 May.
With this in mind, the society is organising an inaugural reception of what it call its “Marketing & Communications Network” next Wednesday, 18 December, at No 4 Whitehall Court in London, overlooking the Thames and Victoria Embankment.
The network has been set up to establish a better sense of collaboration between journalists, commentators, industry analysts and publishers, plus communications, marketing, public affairs and corporate social responsibility (CSR) professionals.
West said: “There are very rarely opportunities these days to bring together all these important communities in the aviation and aerospace industries.
“There has always been a large degree of overlap between aviation and aerospace and from speaking to people about the network, we decided to expand its scope and aim to include more disciplines within communications and reputation management.”
The move also reflected the number of changes in the publishing and business information landscape in recent years.
The Air League’s existing as well as new corporate members and partners are welcome to attend the reception, which will be from 18:00–21:00.
