Virgin Hotels – Chicago

This coming Thursday (15 January) will see the opening of the very first Virgin Hotel, in Chicago, often called ‘The Windy City’ and HQ of Boeing among many major companies, sitting on Lake Michigan.

Located in the historic Old Dearborn Bank Building at 203 N. Wabash Avenue, a 26-storey Art Deco landmark building, close by the Chicago River, the hotel will offer 250 guest rooms.  Virgin has decided to call them ‘Chambers’ – including 40 one-bedroom suites and two penthouse suites.  In addition, the hotel will feature meeting spaces, restaurants, lounges and other public areas that reflect the Virgin brand’s stylish and functional legacy.

Virgin Hotels says that it is will offer lifestyle hospitality combining service, straightforward value and a seamless, personalised hotel experience with the track record of innovation that Sir Richard Branson’s global Virgin Group has pioneered for over 40 years.

At the heart of the hotel, The Commons Club will create a members’ club ambience – for drinks, for food, for working and for flirting – whilst the rooftop bar will give great cityscape views.  Miss Ricky’s street-level diner will be open 23 hours every day and Two Zero Three will serve coffee by day, wine by night.    www.virginhotels.com
