Emirates Premium Economy

The much-trailed Emirates Premium Economy cabin has finally arrived.

But only initially for the Airbus A380, and to start with on the twice daily Dubai – Sydney service.

The seats are wider than Economy – 19.5inch v 18inch.  With a 2+4+2 layout the window seat is more accessible than the 3+4+3 at the back end. Seat pitch is around 38inch for most rows.  The table folds out of the arm rather than drop down and the dining is superior and served on Royal Doulton china with stainless steel cutlery and some superior wines to the Economy offering.

At present only six of Emirates’ A380s feature the new Premium Economy seating, but 61 more are on the way.

The airline’s fourth class will also be installed on 53 of its 124 Boeing 777 jets as part of an 18-month retrofit programme due to commence at the end of 2022.
