Passenger Locator Forms

Whilst Prime Minister Boris Johnson made no mention of Passenger Locator Forms (PLF) when confirming the lifting of domestic Covid restrictions to Parliament, he did actually respond to a question from Exeter’s Labour MP Ben Bradshaw.

“Given everything the Prime Minister has said this afternoon, why is he keeping the bureaucratic and irritating Passenger Locator Form when the whole of the rest of Europe can already travel freely by showing a vaccine certificate?”

Johnson replied: “We already have one of the most open travel systems in the world and the Passenger Locator Form, I understand his grievance against it, we are certainly reviewing it by Easter”.

Previously Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said he hoped that the PLF would be "significantly simplified" in time for the Easter holidays.

BTN Editor-in-Chief Malcolm Ginsberg said that filling in the form on his visit last week to Los Angeles was as tedious as ever, joining a small queue at the BA check-in, the staff very helpful and experienced.

Gov & IT projects, a total joke. But conincedentially, every time I return to the UK, T&T contact me as "someone I have been in contact with has tested +" but never on my outbounds flight? The UK Gov has NEVER bought an IT project in on-time or on-budget...

Why to wait Mr Shapps for the easy form?

Having just returned from holiday I can confirm that it's still is both tedious, irritating and a shockingly bad example of government IT skills. It's also clear that there's no capability to handle all the data.
