The future of Business Aviation RAeS

The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) is staging what it terms The Future of Business Aviation on 24 April at its London HQ.

Like other areas of the aviation sector, the business aviation community was significantly impacted by the financial crisis of ten years ago.

Over the last decade, the sector has grown year on year but total growth worldwide remains below 2008 levels.  Uncertainty over Brexit, security concerns and rising tensions in various regions around the globe is affecting growth rates.

As a sector providing thousands of jobs across the UK and Europe and generating near €100bn to Europe alone, the Society believes that public policy and decision makers should be better prepared to understand the national benefits of the sector, understand the challenges to growth.

In July 2017, the UK Government published for consultation its draft Aviation Strategy – Beyond the Horizon: The Future of UK Aviation – that aims to set out a long-term vision for UK aviation to 2050 and beyond.

This event will pull together two panels of senior individuals from across the business aviation sector and wider industry.  The Government are keen to hear from the aviation sector to get the final Strategy right when they publish at the end of 2018.  A review of The RAeS session will be submitted.
