Heathrow Clubhouse upgrade

An update for the Heathrow Clubhouse in Terminal 3 has been announced by Virgin Atlantic to mark the 10th anniversary next year of the lounge opening. The airline says the refurbishment will be completed by spring but the facility will remain open meanwhile.

The lounge is available to passengers flying Virgin Atlantic Upper Class, Virgin Atlantic Gold and Virgin Australia Gold and Platinum customers and passengers flying in Delta Air Lines’ Delta One Business-Class cabins.

As well as gathering rave reviews since it opened, the Clubhouse is noted for pioneering the idea of spa treatments for passengers, with Virgin’s spas and salons manager Rebecca Creer saying 65% of the customers using the Heathrow spa are men.

The airline said in a statement further details about “exciting new features” forming part of the refurb would be issued next year. The carrier said areas of the lounge would be closed section by section as the work was carried out but there would be no reduced capacity or closures during the refurbishment period.

As well as the spa, the Clubhouse has power showers, a range of dining options and a concierge to tell passengers when it is time to board flights.
