In-flight shopping trials

Thomas Cook Airlines has launched a trial of its own comprehensive pre-order duty-free service for passengers, a pioneering move among UK leisure airlines that means holiday excitement can start up to a month before flying.

The airline says that the price guaranteed service brings the convenience of home shopping to fliers. A range of 1,500 products sold at between 20% and 65% below high street prices can be ordered online up to 30 days before departure.  The holiday treats are delivered straight to the customer’s seat on board the aircraft and on the outbound flight more can even be pre-ordered for delivery on the return.

The Airshoppen product range includes perfume, cosmetics, skincare, spirits and boutique. Passengers will be reimbursed if they find the products they purchased at a lower price in UK airports.

Airshoppen has operated in Scandinavia since 1987, where Simon Spies, the owner of the Spies tour operator, now a Thomas Cook Group company, invented the concept.  Since then it has grown in popularity because of the convenience and value it offers passengers. Thomas Cook Airlines extended the service to Germany in November 2014 and is now confident it will prove to be a massive success in the UK too.  https://www.airshoppen.com   www.thomascookairlines.com
