easyFoodstore

A new discount food store, easyFoodstore, has opened on the western side of London’s North Circular Road (A406) in the easy Bus building.  This is the latest venture from Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyJet.

A company spokesman said the store will offer a “limited and basic range of items at rock-bottom prices” as it looks to cash in on the success of German discount chains Aldi and Lidl.

As part of an introductory offer, the pilot store is offering items for 25p in February, from a list that includes curry, pizza, pasta, biscuits and rice.

Commenting on the launch Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou said: “This is another way the easy brand can serve the less well-off.  “Given my experience in distributing food for free in Greece and Cyprus, this is a more commercial attempt to sell basic food for 25p per item to those less well-off in the Park Royal area.”  The price doubles in March!

easyJet travellers looking to purchase before boarding will be disappointed.  The new venture is a long way from Luton and even further to Gatwick.  You also need to be travelling north to get to it.    http://easyfoodstore.com
