Cathay moves into Madrid

A four-times-weekly service between Hong Kong and Madrid is being launched by Cathay Pacific next June in a further expansion of its European network. It will be the only direct link between the two cities, both important business and financial centres.

The flights will operate with Cathay’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft fitted with Business Class, new Premium Economy and long-haul Economy Class seats and boasting a state-of-the-art on-demand entertainment system in all classes.

Ivan Chu, Chief Executive, said: "Network expansion is part of our core strategy, underpinning our efforts to strengthen Hong Kong's position as one of the world's great international aviation hubs.

"We are committed to expanding our presence in Europe, having recently added Manchester, Zurich and Düsseldorf to our network."

The summer schedule for the new flights sees CX315 from Hong Kong to Madrid departing at 00:45 and arriving at 08:45 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the return CX320 departing Madrid at 12:25 and arriving in Hong Kong at 07:05 next day.

In winter, westbound flights will depart Hong Kong at 00:45, arriving in Madrid at 08:10 with the eastbound service departing Madrid at 11:20 to arrive in Hong Kong at 07:05 next day.   www.cathaypacific.com
