EBACE – A full report next week

Airbus super salesman John Leahy flew into Geneva last week to announce to a packed press conference at the 15th annual European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) that the company was launching the A320neo in VIP configuration as the ACJ320neo and ACJ319neo.

Launch customer for the ACJ320neo is Farnborough, UK-based VIP charter operator Acropolis Aviation which has been flying its ACJ319 for five years.

The ACJ320neo will enter service in early 2020 with a range of 6,000nm,  enabling Acropolis clients to fly London to Johannesburg, Los Angeles direct and Sydney with one refuelling stop.

Acropolis VIP jet will be configured with 19 seats, but Leahy acknowledged he has two other undisclosed customers.   His mobile phone went off during the press conference.  “That’s another order coming in,” he quipped.

Another high profile executive Akbar Al Baker also stopped off in Geneva to confirm an additional 10 Gulfstream G500/G600 executive jets for its Doha-based bizjet subsidiary Qatar Executive.  The latest order boasts its Gulfstream commitment to 30 orders and options.   Full report next week from Alison Chambers and Jane Stanbury.  https://ebace.aero
