Brighton City Airport

Shoreham Airport (ESH) is under new management by a company called Brighton City Airport Ltd (BCAL). Albemarle Shoreham Airport Ltd (ASAL) who purchased a 150-year lease from the local council in 2008 has appointed BCAL to manage operations at the airport for a 30-year period.

ASAL has, in turn, stated its intention to finance the costs and complete the work of refurbishing the listed terminal building at the airport. ASAL now has scaffolding in place, ready to start the refurbishment process and work is due to commence shortly.

Founded in 1910, it is the oldest airport in the UK.

Brighton City Airport Ltd, established in July 2013, has managed airside operations since August 2013.  With revenue and aircraft movements up, the management team is very positive about the future for the airport, which is the 10th busiest in the UK in terms of movements.  It has a single tarmac runway 1,036m which makes it ideal for small passenger planes such as the Twin Otter, light jets and general aviation aircraft.  www.flybrighton.com
