Low-Cost Airlines conference

The annual World Low-Cost Airlines Congress takes place 16-17 September at the Business Design Centre, Islington, not far from London’s Kings Cross/St Pancras complex.

If  last year’s event  is anything to go by it is going to be a very lively two days, the opening assembly chaired by Bloomberg’s Guy Johnson, who describes himself as a journalist and aviation enthusiast. He will be trying to keep control of Christof Mueller, the outgoing Chief Executive of Aer Lingus; Kenny Jacobs, new at Ryanair but already making an impact; Bjorn Kjos, of Norwegian Air,  in Europe but not part of it; and Vitaly Savelyev, Chief Executive of Aeroflot, with low-cost plans.

Further sessions are spread out over the two days where the speakers include Ed Winter of FastJet, Pieter Elbers of KLM, and Helene Abraham, Executive VP Commercial of the Air France subsidiary HOP.

The gathering includes AirXperience Europe2014, Aviation Europe2014, and the Air Retail Show.  Some 45 companies have taken space in the parallel exhibition and 700 plus delegates booked.  www.terrapinn.com/conference/world-low-cost-airlines
