American's luxury lounge

Shower rooms and an express clothes-pressing service, plus a business centre and meeting room, are among features just unveiled by American Airlines in its refurbished Arrivals Lounge in Heathrow’s Terminal 3.

Premium customer services manager Gemma Ward said the multi-million dollar investment “reaffirms our presence and commitment to enhancing the customer experience in London”.

The lounge also features new menus, prepared by the Royal Albert Hall caterer Rhubarb, alternating every four weeks for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, with buffet or à la carte service and produce sourced largely from British suppliers.

Current highlights include eggs benedict with York ham; superfood salad with broad beans, avocado, pomegranate and organic seeds; and mango and lemon poached chicken with lemon thyme scented couscous. There is also  a selection of healthy options and dishes for passengers with special dietary requirements.

American has up to 19 daily flights into Heathrow from US cities including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Charlotte and Raleigh.
