Hilton's Baltic trio

Hilton Worldwide says it will be serving each of the Baltic countries by 2018 after it unveiled plans to take its Hilton Garden Inn brand to Lithuania and Latvia. The company opened its first hotel in the region, the Hilton Tallinn Park in Estonia, last month.

In Lithuania, a 150-room Garden Inn in Vilnius city centre is scheduled to open by the end of 2018 near Lukiskes Square, a hub for government, cultural and commercial buildings.

The hotel will be part of a multi-function 18,000sq m complex with a business centre, commercial gallery, cafés, restaurants, luxury apartments and an open public space.

In Latvia, the 100-room Hilton Garden Inn Riga Old Town is expected to be ready by the end of next year.

It will be almost next door to the city’s most famous building, known as the House of Blackheads, a popular meeting and concert venue and current official residence of the Latvian president.

Both the historic 15th-century St Peters Church and the banks of the Daugava River are only a short walk away.

Facilities at both the Riga and Vilnius properties will include free wi-fi throughout, 24hr business centres and fully-equipped fitness centres. All guestrooms feature spacious and clutter-free work desks with ergonomic desk chairs.
