Irish debut for Macdonald

A first meetings and conference property in Ireland for Macdonald Hotels has opened with the arrival of the Macdonald Kinsale Hotel & Spa, overlooking Oysterhaven Bay, near Cork.

There are new meeting, team-building, and conferencing facilities with a dedicated service and booking team, good travel links, audio-visual equipment, private balconies, natural daylight and helicopter landing pad.

The main meeting space, the 210sq m Rathmore Suite on the ground floor of the luxury four-star property, can accommodate 40 – 300 delegates and has layout options, including theatre, banquet, classroom, U-shape, board and cabaret.

For visitors coming from the UK, the venue is a 25min drive from Cork Airport, which offers direct flights from several major cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Cardiff, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

For those arriving by train, Cork Kent station is within a 30min drive, and the hotel has free parking.

Conference and business facilities include free wi-fi throughout and the latest audio visual equipment including LCD projectors and screens.

On the team-building front, the hotel’s events team can create bespoke days for businesses in partnership with local activity specialist the Oysterhaven Activity Centre.

Activities range from small gatherings for as few as eight delegates to a “bobsled bonanza” for up to 100 delegates at a time.
