La Compagnie fare deals
A “Summer Duo” fare offering two return flights from Luton to New York Newark for £1,790 has been introduced by the all-Business-Class airline La Compagnie. Bookings open tomorrow (21 June) on the company website and close on 31 July. These fares undercut the established airlines considerably.
No limit has so far been set on when travel can take place and the fare includes taxes and charges but is subject to fees for use of credit cards.
The company has also launched a second fares initiative with a plan to sell 10 memberships, called L’Unlimited, for a year’s worth of flights. The passes, which must be booked between 18-23 July, will be available in the UK, US and Europe for a one-time cost of £25,000, US$35,000 or €30,000.
La Compagnie operates the five-times-weekly Luton – Newark service (daily except Tuesdays and Fridays) with a B757-200 with 74 seats that convert to angled flatbeds. The frequency increases to six a week from the end of this month and will go daily from September.
The French-owned airline is due to take delivery of another 74-seat single-class B757 shortly and said last month it was also considering acquiring a new long-range B737-800 fitted with around 70 seats (see BTN 29 May).
