Third new route for Eva
Taiwan-based Eva Air has added to its growing network in North America with the launch of Taipei – Chicago service, its third new route this year.
The airline introduced two new non-stops from Taiwan in March, with four weekly flights to Istanbul and a daily service to Cebu.
The Chicago route joins a North America network which already includes Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto and New York, plus Houston, which began last summer.
Officials say the new service not only consolidates Eva Air’s position as a leading airline in terms of flight frequency and capacity between North America and Taiwan but also facilitates more one-stop connections to more destinations throughout Asia and mainland China than any other carrier.
As part of its expansion plans, Eva last November signed agreements to buy up to 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and two additional Boeing 777-300ERs over the next six years.
The airline says this will enable it to replace older models, introduce more flight frequencies and add new destinations to the schedule.
