Virgin Oz unveils new cabins

A new international Business Class cabin, a new product called Economy Space+ and major improvements to the Premium Economy cabin were unveiled on Monday by Virgin Australia.

The announcements came as the first of the airline’s refitted Boeing 777-300ER aircraft entered service across the Pacific.

Features of the new Business Class cabin, now known as The Business, include 37 individual and private suites that convert to the length of a queen size bed and 100% direct aisle access in a 1+2+1 configuration.

Passengers are also provided with side console areas for working and 18in HD in-flight entertainment touch-screens.

Economy Space+, located in the first five rows and exit rows of the main cabin on the B777-300ER fleet, features extra legroom and check-in via a dedicated Premium check-in counter.

It also offers pre-boarding, preferred overhead locker, dedicated crew members throughout the flight and guaranteed first meal choice.

The Premium Economy upgrade includes an exclusive 24-seat cabin with what Virgin Australia claims is more legroom than any other Australian airline, fast-track service through the airport and a dedicated crew throughout the flight.

Virgin Australia’s long-haul fleet flies daily from Sydney and Brisbane to Los Angeles and three times per week from Sydney to Abu Dhabi.
